The Background
I've spent my career working on engines — in shops, in the field, and on the floor with the people who run and maintain them every day. Gas engines, diesel engines, industrial power equipment. If it has an engine, I've probably worked on it.
Over time, I started seeing the same patterns: shops stuck on problems they couldn't crack, teams making the same mistakes because nobody had ever shown them the right way, fleets losing money to failures that were completely preventable with the right knowledge.
That's what Creger Consulting is built around — closing that gap. Whether it's getting your team up to speed or tracking down a problem that's been stumping everyone, I come to you, work through it firsthand, and leave you with real answers.
Areas of Expertise
What I bring to the table.
Gas Engines
Automotive, small engine, and light industrial gasoline engines — operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
Diesel Engines
Heavy equipment, fleet, agricultural, and commercial diesel — from routine maintenance to complex failure diagnosis.
Industrial Engines
Stationary power, generators, compressors, and industrial machinery — systems that can't afford to go down.
Engine Diagnostics
Systematic diagnosis of persistent failures, electrical faults, fuel system issues, cooling problems, and mechanical failures.
Hands-On Training
Practical instruction for mechanics and operators — built around your equipment, your team, and your real-world challenges.
On-Site Consulting
Available to travel anywhere in the country. The work happens where your equipment is, not in a classroom.
How I Work
No middlemen. No guesswork.
I don't send a team. I show up myself. When you bring me in, you get someone who's actually going to look at your equipment, talk to your people, and work through the problem — not hand it off to a junior tech or run through a generic checklist. Independent means no upsells, no unnecessary parts, no agenda other than getting you a real answer.
No shop, no parts department, no upsells. My only interest is solving your problem.
I come to you. The work happens where your equipment is.
No guesswork. Diagnosis is methodical — eliminate variables, find the root cause, fix it right.
Available to travel anywhere in the country. Distance isn't a barrier.
